Penguin Random House - Student Awards - We were required to design a book cover for 'In Cold Blood' by Truman Capote. The cover itself had to follow a template for bar code and logo placement etc. The design was required to be bold and even shocking, reflecting the content of the book. I chose to base the design on a newspaper article, using the image of the family as a juxtaposition to their fates scribbled in red pen, the idea being that Dick and Perry were the ones who wrote the fates on the article. The blood splatters again hint at death, linking to the book being about a multiple murder.
